The big day is coming and you and your bridesmaids should look stunning! We’ve seen all sorts of hairdos for brides and bridal parties, including downs and half-downs. But nothing is quite like the classic bridal up-do – it’s a big change from your normal hair routine and is sure to turn heads. Here is what we’re seeing as far as bridal hair goes in 2016.
A neat low knot is as eye catching as anything, and is sure to wow on wedding day. To accentuate your style and create a slight twist, try pulling your knot ever so slightly to one side. This slightly asymmetrical version of a classic low knot still looks refined and elegant, while creating a different look. Couple this with a side swept fringe that goes in the other direction and you will have a defined style that they’re sure to remember.
The amount of depth and definition of curl makes this updo incredible. It’s pulled back tightly in the front, but really stands out in the back.
We love this look by Penelope Cruz and we’re not sure hair can get any more classic than this. A twisted knot resting higher up above the nape of the neck makes the whole thing regal and the braiding around the bun adds an old world Renaissance touch.
We can integrate plaits, small or full into buns to add depth and beauty for an updo to remember.
Or, there’s also fishtail plaits pinned to create an embedded crown. Rather than having a milkmaid look with plaits, fishtailing adds more subtle definition and also weaves in wispy stray hairs.
When you’re figuring out what head accessory goes perfectly with your dress — whether it be a veil, tiara, or some other headpiece, consider pearls.
They help structure and define a bun, and work amazingly with deep waves and highlights. Plus they don’t detract from your face. Pearls are a great option if you’re going with a backless wedding dress, too.
With a wave that’s wrapped into itself, your hair says “forever” just as you do. Having an infinity wave is a striking and elegant way to up do your bridal hair.
Those with ombres get excited! This two-toned hairstyle plays on your colours and emphasizes your lights and darks. You can accentuate the colour differences with an elegant hair pin nestled in between the two.
Let your curls define your hair by having them fully textured and lain next to each other, secured at the shoulders. By adding some highlights and lowlights, your curls will look even more defined. Add a flower or other hair pin to fully emphasise where the curls start.
