2016 Best Winter Hairstyles for Men
Posted by hairhubadmin on 30 Jun 2016 / 0 Comment

We love having guys come into our studio for a haircut. Being well-groomed and looking great is a fantastic way to step up your confidence and show off your style. Most of the time, you can just shower and go, only needing to return to the salon every three to four weeks. Winter is the perfect time for men to reinvent their look, with fashion and practicality working perfectly together. Here are a few of the styles we’ve seen going around Melbourne that are perfect for this winter.

Undercut, Medium Top

One of the biggest things we’ve seen this season is men getting a super short undercut with a C-curve along the top of their heads, allowing for medium hair a few centimetres down each side. There’s room to do a natural part or an exaggerated one with this kind of undercut.

You can also have it evenly cut or faded — with shorter hair at the bottom and becoming gradually longer as you make your way to the top. This is more neutral but without the sharpness of the undercut.

Fringe Swept Back

Another very popular trend so far in 2016 is long fringe swept all the way back. We love it because it’s not too restrictive — though it does need a teensy bit of work in the morning with a basic sculpting creme. Great for guys with straight hair, you can rock a swept look that makes you seem you just came into the room from somewhere really important.

Crop Top

We’ve seen a few full heads of hair with short sides. Instead of a gentle hug around your scalp, we love how bold this look is with a square top finish and as much volume as possible. Great for curly hair, because it stays in place, this crop top look stays clean with a close trim around the back and sides, and without a part.

The Lumberjack

We’re talking full beard, full hair, trimmed or not – depending on your age and lifestyle. Go for the full ‘jack with a flanno and some craft beer in hand. Remember when the term “lumbersexual” was coined? Customise your lumberjack hair with a defined part and shaved head that fades upward.

Long Curly Fringe

If you’ve got textured or curly hair, 2016 winter is the season for you. Keep your hair shorter in the back, but let your fringe fall in your face just a bit and don’t forget a fade or undercut to help those curls stay bold instead of messy. This look works great for people who want to get a little unkempt, but can still clean up pretty quick for an important date or day at work.
